Commercial Director of Prodkorporatsiya Marat Seysenov believes that Kazakhstan could export 1 million tons of grain to China. He said at the 6th session of the subcommittee for trade-economic cooperation of the Kazakh-Chinese committee for cooperation that Kazakhstan exports only 166,000 tons of grain to China, Trend reports.
Deputy Director of the foreign trade department of the Chinese Commerce Ministry Jang Zeng Min said that China wants to purchase more grain.
China permitted transit of 3 million tons of Kazakh grain to South-Eastern Asia in December 2009. Kazakhstan started exporting wheat to China in March 2010. The first portion consisted of 7,000 tons of wheat. China produces and consumes over 100 million tons of grain.
China needs only high-quality grain. China mixes it with grain that has fibrin of over 28%.
China produced 109.3 million tons of grain in 2007, 112.4 million tons in 2008, 114.5 million tons in 2009.
