Armenia sees the need to construct a railroad to Iran, Armenian minister for transport Manuk Vardanyan said, commenting on the talk about the high expenses that have been promised to implement this project, Panorama reports.
According to the minister, European specialists estimate the cost of the project at $4 billion, but their Armenian counterparts speak only about $1.7-1.8 billion. The government of Armenia is going to attract
investment for the implementation of the project; currently it is holding talks with several countries, in particular Russia.
Agreement has been reached that Iran will finance the construction of a 60-kilometer part of the railroad running through its territory.
