Georgia is trying to attract Japanese businessmen for construction of the Namakhvani dam, Trend reports.
The dam system will include a cascade of Nenskra, which will be built by Sinohydro (China). Georgian Minister for Energy Alexander Khetaguri said after a meeting with Japanese Minister for Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Yuichiro Hata in Tokyo that the Japanese International Development Bank had financed dam reconstruction in 2005-2006.
Hata noted that the two states have marked their 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations and Japan received numerous proposals from Georgia.
