Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has noted the role of forming the artificial lake of Altyn Asyr, Trend reports.
The lake would be used for irrigation and prevention of salt build-up and droughts. It is essential for Central Asia and will preserve the eco system of Amu Darya, he claims.
The lake will hold 132 billion cubic meters of water covering 2,000 square km.
