The deputy foreign ministers of the Caspian countries will meet in
Baku in early July to discuss agreements on Caspian security, Turan
reports, citing Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov.
He said that, if the sides agree on all issues, there will be a summit
of Caspian countries’ leaders. The decision to prepare agreements on
security issues was made at the meeting of countries’ heads in Tehran
in 2007. Until that meeting, the Caspian countries had bilateral
documents and agreements concerning the seabed. The document on
bioresources has not been agreed on yet.
