Agricultural minister of Krasnodar Territory calls recent African swine flu sabotage

 

Agricultural Minister of the Krasnodar Territory Eduard Kutygin said that the African swine flu was brought in purposefully and was aggravated by negligence of farmers, Yuga.ru reports.

The region registered a new outbreak of the disease on August 7. Governor of the Krasnodar Territory Alexander Tkachyov said that the emergency regime was imposed to event spreading of the disease.

Kutygin believes that farmers have part of responsibility for the virus for concealing facts of the disease. He reminded that people may report any veterinary violations to 214-25-09 and 214-25-86.

Some media say that US specialists are developing biological weapons in Georgia. U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (Fort Detrick) and the Georgian Institute for Microbiology, Virusology and Bacteriophages (Tbilisi) carry out joint studies.

Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear, Chemical & Biological Defense Programs Andrew Weber attended the opening of a public healthcare laboratory in March 2011. Anna Zhvania is the director of the laboratory. She has been the Intelligence Chief until February 2008.

Outbreaks of African swine flu were registered in various regions of the North Caucasus and Russia’s South. Sergey Dankvert, head of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance, said that the virus entered Russia from Georgia.
