Armenian Minister for transport and Communications Gagik Beglaryan has met the head of the Department for Eastern Policy and Central Asia of the European Investment Bank Heinz Olbers, PanArmenian reports.
They discussed technical research and preparations. The bank offers $50 million for reconstruction and modernization of 92 km of road from Vanadzor to Bagratashen (Georgian border).
A spokeswoman of the European Investment Bank Georgia Kutsiana noted that technical research will evaluate the sum needed for reconstruction.
Olbers expressed readiness to grant the third tranche for the North-South corridor.
Head of the crediting subdepartment Philipp Shimchak said that the bank wants to increase financing of Armenian programs.
