The director of Iran's department for road use and construction announced that, according to international standards, road repairs should be carried out every 15 years. But in Iran, due to lack of financing, the length of time of road use has reduced by 10 years, Iran News reports.
Instead of $4 billion, the Iranian authorities have alloted only $1 billion for roadworks, which is only enough to cover 35% of required road repairs.
