Transit of Russian oil through the Atasu-Alashankou Pipeline in Kazakhstan will cost $149.22 (1673.89 tenge) per ton for 1000 km, Vzglyad reports.
The fee was set by the Kazakh State Agency for Regulation of Natural Monopolies for September 1. No transit contracts have been signed yet, but Russian companies have sent letters.
The Kazakh Ministry for Oil and Gas set a quota of 250,000 tons of oil for transit from Russia to China. The quota will most likely remain unchanged until the end of the year.
The current fee is 3818 tenges per ton.
Russia will increase oil supplies to China only if the Port of Kozmino operates at full capacity.
