The issues of implementation of tourism projects on the territory of Dagestan, in the Caspian coastal cluster and the all-season mountain recreation complex of Matlas, were discussed at a workshop in Makhachkala by the leadership of the republic and of "North Caucasus Resorts". Both projects are being developed as part of the tourism cluster project of the South of Russia, created under the auspices of “North Caucasus Resorts".
In particular, they discussed the protocol for carrying out the instructions of Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, formulated following the meeting of the government commission on the socio-economic development of the district in Grozny, and the orders given by the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy in the North Caucasus Federal District, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Khloponin, the press release of “North Caucasus Resorts" says.
The head of Dagestan, Magomedsalam Magomedov, said that the construction of the ski resort of Matlas is under constant monitoring, so it is necessary to focus on the work on the coastal cluster, which requires "putting it on fast track." "This is a very important project and, perhaps, the socio-economic development of our republic, the level and quality of life in it depends largely on how well we are implementing it. This is our main project. We cannot have other approach but to resolve everything quickly and efficiently," the press service quotes the head of the republic.
For his part, the chairman of the Board of Directors of “North Caucasus Resorts”, Ahmed Bilalov, said at the meeting that next year the company planned to begin construction of the internal and external infrastructure in the resort of Matlas in the Khunzakh region of Dagestan. According to him, a number of infrastructure objects are now being designed, including Makhachkala-Airport-Matlas roads, “North Caucasus Resorts” reports.
During the meeting, which was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic Mukhtar Majidov and First Deputy General Director of “North Caucasus Resorts” Islam Nazaraliyev, mechanisms for the quickest implementation of the project of tourism cluster; separate entities of the beach resort on the Caspian coast and the ski resort in Matlas were also considered.
Under the management of “North Caucasus Resorts” in southern Russia a large-scale project of building new world-class ski resorts is being developed: among these resorts there are Lagonaki (Krasnodar Region and Adygea), Arkhyz (Karachay-Cherkessia), Elbrus-Bezengi (Kabardino-Balkaria), Mamison (North Ossetia), Matlas (Dagestan ) and Tsori Armkhi (Ingushetia), and beach resorts on the coast of the Caspian Sea in Dagestan. The length of the ski slopes will exceed 1,100 km; 227 lifts will be installed there. Hotels, apartments and villas of different levels of comfort, designed for 102.5 thousand people, will be built, and the daily capacity of the ski resorts will reach 172 thousand people.
