On 1 July meeting of oil executives Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz told that the Turkish government is concerned about safety in the Bosporus, RIA reports. The plan is to reduce the threat of oil spills by making international oil firms build pipelines instead of using tankers for moving oil through the Bosporus Strait.
On of the alternative pipelines proposed is a pipeline from the city of Samsun to a Mediterranean port Ceyhan.
Yoday were also discussed plans concerning the Burgas-Alexandroupolis pipeline. It was planned between ports of Bulgaria and Greece.
