Georgian president monitors grape harvesting in Kakheti personally

 

Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili plans to monitor harvesting of grape in Kakheti from his residence in Kvareli, Georgia Online reports.

Georgia planned to collect 130,000 tons of grape this year. But heavy rain caused a reduction of harvests to only 90,000 tons.

Kakheti has experienced two disasters this month. Dozens of houses were flooded after heavy rain in Kvareli and Lagodekhi yesterday. Roofs were blown off at Gurjaani and Chumlaki Village. Villages of the Lagodekhy District were damaged.
