Gazprom intends to increase gas supplies to Europe through Belarus,
the head of the corporation Alexei Miller said today, RIA Novosti
reports.
"We will increase the supplies of Russian gas through Belarus to the
markets of the EU. We were considering today different options and
scenarios," Miller said.
However, he did not mention any specific volumes. "The prospect of
increased transit supplies is connected, first of all, to the
analysis of the European markets. Secondly, we will consider the option
of reconstruction and construction of new objects of
infrastructure in Belarus and the questions of synchronization of the
gas transportation capacity in Russia and Belarus," he noted.
He added that some questions still require further investigation and
technological and economic analysis.
