Some Armenians have started gathering firewood for the winter, expecting a dramatic rise of gas prices, Tert.am reports.
According to unofficial sources, the price for gas will increase from $180 per 1000 cubic meters on today to $280 on October 1, $320 on January 1, 2013.
Kamo Vardanyan living in Kanaker said that using firewood would be cheaper. He can buy firewood for 70,000 to keep the house warm for 3-4 months. He paid 50,000-60,000 drams in cold winters every month. The monthly price would double with the new gas fees.
