Gennady Onishenko, Russian Chief Sanitary Inspector, said that he had saved Kakheti wine-making culture from falsifications at the Russian marker, RIA Novosti reports.
The inspector reminded that Rusdsia had banned Georgian wines, including kindzmarauli and khvanchkara. Such wines used to be sold only in elite stores during Soviet times. But then they were sold at almost any store.
Onishenko says that it was an exploitation of Soviet brands.
