Sochi hosts investment forum

Sochi is hosting the 11th International Investment Forum Sochi-2012 today. Organizers say that the city will become the center of economic life in Russia’s South on September 20-23. Over 8,000 delegates from 53 regions and 47 countries will attend the forum. 105 agreements worth 457.1 billion rubles will be signed.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said that attendants will discuss implementation of innovative technologies, and improvement of human capital, modernization of infrastructure and formation of positive investment climate. The PM will attend a plenary session.

The forum will have a presentation of Formula-1 rally.

North Ossetia will present projects worth 162.2 billion rubles, a press release acquired by Vestnik Kavkaza says.

North Ossetian Leader Taymuraz Mamsurov will represent the republic at the forum and present the Cluster of Composite Materials of North Ossetia project, initiated by the office of North Ossetia at the Russian president.

Stavropol Territory will present 6 projects for development of tourism and recreation of Pyatigorsk-EXPO worth over 35.9 billion rubles. 10 projects will be worth 250 billion rubles.

Chechnya plans to present 68 investment projects worth about 140 billion rubles.

The Krasnodar Territory plans to present about 1,800 investment projects designed according to international standards.
