The Chechen authorities are planning to restore the industry in the country in 5-7 years and bring the economy to the level it was at in 1991, the head of the Parliament of the Chechen Republic Dukuvakha Abdurakhmanov announced.
"We need to restore industry. Given the human potential, the command of Ramzan Kadyrov could revive industry in 5-7 years, it is a powerful republic with huge potential," Abdurakhmanov told reporters in Stavropol, RIA Novosti reports.
He noted that in this case, economic indicators could reach the same levels as in 1991. Abdurakhmanov believes that if industry is restored in Chechnya, then the republic will not need any subsidies or grants from the federal government.
"We need to restore the petrochemical industry, it rquires billions. Also we can talk about the processing of agricultural products," Abdurakhmanov said.
