Over 100 states make transit freighting through Iran, Iranian Deputy Minister for Transportation and Housing Shahriyar Afandizade said today, Trend reports.
Transit has increased by 75% in the last 3 years. Transit in Q1 2012 (starting on March 20) exceeded 3.4 million tons, exceeding the same period last year by 30.8%.
Iran expects transit in 2012 to total 12 million tons.
Afandizade said that transit in 2011 totaled 11 million tons, exceeding the five-year plan of 2010-2015 by 25%.
