France supports membership of Azerbaijan to the WTO. “We are interested in accession of the country to this organization as soon as possible,” the Foreign Ministry of France stated, 1news.az reported.
The French Foreign Ministry noted that the Azerbaijani economy is going in the right direction, and France is ready to support Baku.
Azerbaijan has conducted two meetings with members of the WTO this year. In October-November the third round of talks will take place. In February 2012 Azerbaijan conducted bilateral negotiations with the US, the EU, Norway, Canada, Ecuador, and Japan.
Azerbaijan has had the status of an observer in the organization since 1997.
