Iran launches North-South transit

 

Hamid Safdel, head of the Iranian Organization for Trade Development, said at a meeting with Uzbek Deputy Minister for Foreign Economic Relations Akmal Kamalov that the North-South transit route was launched by Iran, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Oman and Qatar, Iran News reports.

Safdel said that Iran and Uzbekistan had the greatest potential for transit and expressed hope that its potential would be realized.

Safdel noted that the last session of the Iranian-Uzbek commission for trade-economic development was held three years ago. The two states plan to form a joint trade chamber.

He added that the Kazvin, Mazandaran and Northern Horasan Provinces of Iran wanted to send delegations to Uzbekistan.
