Governor of the Volgograd Region Sergey Bozhenov and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a deal on wheat exports to Azerbaijan, Trend reports.
Azerbaijan plans to buy a million tons of grain.
The Azerbaijani Cabinet lifted VAT of 18% for wheat, meslin, wheat and rye flour on September 24. Similar tax reliefs will be approved this year.
17,500 tons of grain have been exported from the Volgograd Region to Azerbaijan this year. Tax reliefs will encourage increase of imports to Azerbaijan.
Governor Bozhenov visited Azerbaijan and attended a business forum on September 24.
