BP refuses to fuel Iranian planes

British Petroleum has refused to fuel Iranian airliners. BP stopped fuel delivery for at least one of the Iranian air companies in Dubaiairport three days ago. The petroleum company also told its subsidiaries and European offices not to serve Iranian Airlines, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Relations between BP and the USA have considerably worsened after the Mexican Gull oil disaster and the creation of a BP-Iranian joint enterprise, and British Petroleum is trying to ameliorate the situation by imposing the sanctions, the paper suggested. Moreover, the USA has declared its intention to fine companies who deliver oil-products to Iran.

Iran accused Britain, Germany and the United Arab Emirates of violating treaties on petroleum delivery and threatened to impose the same sanctions on these countries' aircraft. Iran has rich oil reserves, but production capacities can not supply
all its aviation needs, reports ITAR-TASS.
