"Russia-Armenia" gas pipeline to be struck off list of Georgian strategic objects

At a special meeting of the Georgian parliament on Tuesday, July 6th, a bill "On the issue of State Property" was approved, that strikes the "Russia-Armenia" gas pipeline off the list of Georgian strategic objects, "Novosty Gruzia" reports.

The legislative proposal was made by the vice-chairman of the Law Committee, Lasha Tordia. The document soon became a target of vehement criticism from the opposition, which is strictly against the probable sale of the pipeline to Russia.

Lasha Tordia has stressed that there is no word about the sale of the pipeline to Russia in his bill.
