Gazprom to ignore investigation of European Commission

The Russian government has ordered the preparations of measures that state companies will take during investigations of foreign governments. Gazprom will ignore requests from the European Commission for two months, Lenta.ru reports.

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the order making strategic Russian companies cooperate with the government. Gazprom will be under the supervision of the Energy Ministry.

The EU suspects Gazprom of violating the antimonopoly law in Central and Eastern Europe by setting unjustified gas prices for consumers. It may be fined up to $14 billion.
