The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway is in the last stage of implementation, and it will be commissioned by 2013, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said during the Turkish-Kazakh business forum, TRT Haber reported on Friday.
He noted that the route of the Silk Road will be restored after commissioning of Marmara in October 2013, which is intended to connect the European part of Turkey with Anatolia, and the accession of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway to it.
Direct communication between London and Beijing will be created. This will serve the interests of Europe, the Caucasus, Central Asia and the Middle East," Erdogan said.
