Over 3000 houses need checking after the earthquake in Zagatal in early May and October 14, Trend cites Elman Ramazanov, Deputy Chief Executive of the district and Chairman of the district commission for emergencies.
The houses are located in 51 villages.
The official said that two schools were in critical condition after the earthquake on Sunday. They were closed for studies. Five other schools had limited studies due to damaged buildings.
The 7-point earthquake hit the western part of the Zagatalsky District, 30 km away from the Balakensky District on the Georgian border at 3.13 pm on October 14.
The Zagatalsky and Balakensky District had an earthquake with a magnitude of 6 points. Mingyachevir, Sheki, Shamakh, Gakh, Yevlakh and Qabala registered 3-5 points.
Another earthquake happened in the Balakensky District at 8.40 pm equivalent to 5 points on the 12-point scale. The Balakensky and Zagatalsky Districts experienced 4 points. The two districts are located 435 km and 411 km from Baku respectively.
