A new sea passage will be opened between the Iranian city of Astara (Gilyan province) and the Azerbaijani capital Baku. The Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mokhsin Pakaijin, announced this at the opening ceremony of the International Construction Exhibition. The diplomat noted that the launch of the Kazvin-Resht-Astara railway and the Astara – Baku –Astara sea passage will contribute to and improve trade links between two countries, Trend reports.
Moreover, Azerbaijan and Iran agreed to reconstruct the Baku – Enzeli transport line and develop sea traffic from Baku to other Iranian ports – Amirabad and Noushkher.
