Russia to form national low-cost airline

Aeroflot offers to form a national low-cost airline if amendments to the Air Code and aviation rules are passed, Director of the company Vitaly Savelyev said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin today, ITAR-TASS reports.

Aeroflot proposed construction of a special airport using already existing ones around Moscow.

The official said that passengers purchasing low-cost tickets should have no right to demand refunds, such as it is done in Europe and America.

Moreover, Savelyev wants permission to hire non-residential pilots. All Russian companies lack pilots and have to increase wages.

He reminded that passengers have 10 kg of free luggage, low-cost tickets should set fees for any quantities of cargo.

Savelyev wants to cancel free food for low-cost ticket owners.
