Olimpstroy will carry out additional testing of the effect of Olympic facilities in Sochi on the environment, RIA Novosti reports, citing the corporation’s press-service.
The testing was approved by the Ministry of Nature, the director of Olimpstroy environment department, Gleb Vatletsov, said.
Olimpstroy expects to receive proposals to create additional ecological measures to protect the region's environment.
In March 2010 the United Nations Environmental Programme declared that the decisions made by the organizers of Sochi-2014 had not been followed up on. They include the expansion of the national park of Sochi, protection of the valley of River Mzymta, and the creation of new protected territories for bird migration.
