Gazprom loses third of net profit

 

Income of Gazprom dropped by 5% to 2.2 trillion rubles, net profit of the first six months in 2012 dropped by 34% to 508.7 billion rubles, Lenta.ru reports.

The largest Russian company spent 133 billion rubles on retroactive payments in the January-June 2012. They were discounts for European gas purchasers. The sum totaled 78.5 billion rubles in Q1.

Europeans are reducing gas purchases due to the debt crisis. Sales dropped in the first half of 2012. Average gas prices increased, exports dropped.

Gazprom says that an average gas price for exports totals 11,600 rubles per 1000 cubic meters for distant states, 9,100 rubles for neighbor states, 2,700 rubles for Russia (excluding VAT, including custom fees). Current prices total $370 per 1000 cubic meters of gas, $290 and $86 respectively.
