The 422-km section of the Nabucco pipeline will be studied for influence on environment in Bulgaria. All the necessary documents were presented to the Ministry for Environmental Protection of Bulgaria on October 31.
The Hungarian section received environmental approval in June, being the last of the four permissions.
Nabucco Gas Pipeline GmbH Director Reinhard Mitchek said that the project in Bulgaria showed great progress.
Nabucco West was developed by the Shah Deniz Consortium in June to deliver gas to South-Eastern and Central Europe. Its shareholders are OMV (Austria), FGSZ (Hungary), Bulgargaz (Bulgaria), Transgaz (Romania), Botas (Turkey) and RWE (Germany). The final decision will be made in 2013.
