Iran imports wheat from 7 countries

Iranian Deputy Minister for Industry, Mining and Trade Abbas Kobadi said that wheat had been imported from 7 countries, despite sanctions the EU had passed on July 1, Fars reports.

He denied rumours about purchases of wheat in exchange for petroleum. Kobadi said that Iran had enough 9 strategic products to fulfill demands for 1.5 years.

Iran purchased at least 50,000 tons of wheat from Germany. Russia provided 359,900 tons in July-September 2012, 261,000 tons of barley and 6,300 tons of corn.
