Statoil, BP and Total to purchase TANAP shares

 

Statoil and BP wanted to purchase 12% of TANAP shares each, Total wants 5%, President of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev said on Wednesday.

20% of TANAP shares belong to BOTAS (Turkey) and 80% to SOCAR. The latter plans to keep 51% of shares and sell 29% to partners of the Shah Deniz project.

TANAP is a pipeline to be built from the eastern border of Turkey to the western to deliver Azerbaijani gas from Shah Deniz to Europe. An intergovernmental deal on realization of TANAP was signed on June 26.
