Russia and Slovenia sign final investment decision for South Stream

 

Russian and Slovenian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Janez Jansa, Gazprom President Alexey Miller, head of  Plinvodi d.o.o. Mariana Eberlints and his deputy Sara Izernik attended signing of a deal on investment decision for the South Stream Gas Pipeline.

Gazprom has already signed such deals with Serbia and Hungary.

South Stream will run from Jugby (Russia) along the Black Sea to Varna (Bulgaria). It will split into a branch to Italy and one to Austria. The project is worth about 8.6 billion euro, it will have a capacity of over 60 billion cubic meters of gas annually and is expected to be launched in 2015.
