Georgian Deputy Minister for Finances David Ebralidze said at the parliamentary committee for education and science that financing of the Georgian Public Broadcaster will be reduced by about $10.5 million, News Georgia reports.
Ebralidze said that the reduction was due to the principle of financing the Public Broadcaster basing on the GDP level. The organization gets at least 0.12% of the country’s GDP.
The Public Broadcaster has a budget of about $30 million this year. According to the budget project of 2013, the organization will receive $18.5 million.
