Turkmenistan is hosting the International Oil and Gas Conference (OGT-2012) organized by the Ministry for Oil and Gas, Trade and Industry Chamber and Summit Trade Events Ltd (UK) in Ashkhabad.
Business officials were informed about prospects of petroleum industry and were offered to determine forms of cooperation, study investment opportunities at the Turkmen market.
Companies for exploration and extraction of hydrocarbons, development of oil fields, shipment of equipment, transportation, storage and processing of oil and gas are taking part in an exhibition.
Turkmenistan has the second largest gas reserves in the CIS (after Russia). It sells gas to Russia, Iran and China. The program for development of petroleum industry until 2030 plans to increase gas extraction to 250 billion cubic meters, 110 million tons annually.
