Higher denomination manats might appear in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan is thinking of issuing the Azerbaijani currency in
denominations of 200 and 500 manats, the deputy chairman of the
Central Bank of Azerbaijan, Alim Guliyev, said. He added that at the
moment it is only a project, not a decision.

On December 31, 2006, all currency banknotes were changed. At the
moment there are banknotes with denominations of 1, 5, 10, 20, 50 and
100 manats and coins worth 1, 3, 5, 10, 20 and 50 gyaplicks.
