Astana to host EXPO-2017

Astana was elected today to become the host of the international
exhibition EXPO-2017, Trend reports.

An hour before the vote, the president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan
Nazarbayev, addressed the General Assembly of the EXPO. "As you know, Kazakhstan has huge reserves of
traditional resources - oil, gas, coal and uranium. At the same time
we are trying to discover the powerful potential of alternative energy
sources," Nazarbayev said.

The exhibition is expected to take place from June 10 till September
11, 2017. It will be dedicated to alternative energy sources and
"green" technologies.
