The Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company lost $100.257 million in the first half of 2012. The company was granted a loan worth $1 million by VEB until 2024, Gazeta.ru reports.
The company signed more contracts in the second half of 2012, with orders of SSJ-100 increasing from 100 to 179.
About 5% of the company’s losses were caused by Armavia, an Armenian company that owes Sukhoi for exploitation of SSJ-100. Unofficial deals, service and shipments of spare parts caused losses of over $4 million. Sukhoi hopes that Armavia will switch to direct lease of the plane for 6 months.
