EPDK has licensed private companies Akfel, Bosphorusgaz, Kibar Enerji and Batı Hattı to import 6 billion cubic meters of Russian gas annually (22% of total imports of Russian gas in Turkey).
EPDK and the Energy Ministry composed the bill on imports of natural gas by private companies. Companies will receive licenses for imports from other countries in the future.
Private investors are obliged to store at least 10% of gas in state reservoirs (such as the reservoirs of the Turkish Gas Corporation in Silivri).
