Version of Kutaisi "Memorial of Glory" to be ready in Moscow by end of year
A version of the "Memorial of Glory", which was blown up in Kutaisi on the 19th of December 2009, may be built in Moscow on Poklonnaya Gora by the end of 2010, claimed deputy mayor of Moscow Valery Vinogradov at a joint meeting of the social and trustee fund "Historical Heritage", reports RIA-NOVOSTI. Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin proposed it be reconstructed in Moscow. The Moscow authorities decided to build it on Poklonnaya Gora, behind the WWII Museum. An exhibition of proposals for the monument opened on the 2nd of June. The "Reichstag" project won as a result of a ballot. Viktor Seliverstov, head of the "Historical Heritage" fund, said that the aim is to open the monument on the 19th of December, the day the memorial was blown up. The monument project depicts a banner being placed on the Reichstag building.
