Akhmad Kadyrov Bridge opens in Chechnya

 

A bridge named after Akhmad Kadyrov, first President of Chechnya, was opened at Khangish-Yurt in the Gudermessky District over River Terek in Chechnya. Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov, Plenipotentiary Presidential Envoy to the NCFD Alexander Khloponin, heads of cities and locals arrived for the opening, the Chechen government reports.

The bridge connects the Gudermessky and Shelkovsky Districts of Chechnya. Its construction was organized within the federal purpose program for socio-economic development. It is 264m long and 13.5m wide.

Abubakar Tumhajiyev, Chechen Vice Premier and Minister for Transportation, said that the bridge construction had been proposed by Akhmad Kadyrov.

Khloponin congratulated the locals and noted that 800 meters of the river had been straightened. People will save over 1.5 hours by using the bridge.
