Iran launches YouTube analogue

Iran has launched its own YouTube system called Mehr, Khaama Press reports.

Iranians will post videos and short home-made films. Lotfulla Siyakhkali, deputy head of the Voice of Iran TV and Radio Broadcasting Company, said that the new service will allow the company’s shows to be watched and will promote Iranian national culture.

Mehr was launched due to harsh censorship against YouTube and Facebook.
