From next year Azerbaijan will apply the new standard for bread
production. According to the head of the press service of the State
Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents Fazil Talibli,
"the practical application of the new standard will start next year.
According to the new standard, the bakeries will be free to choose the
weight of bread, but there will be stricter requirements for
packaging."
At a recent meeting with the head of the State Committee Ramiz
Hasanov, the bakers were e asked to produce loafs with the weight
of 100 -600 grams, which will allow consumers to buy bread, according
to their own needs and avoid throwing the uneaten bread away. The
question of the manadatory packaging of bread provoked mixed feeling,
as most bakers agree that the consumers prefer to buy fresh warm
bread.
