Status of Caspian Sea and protection of its biological resources to be discussed in Ashgabat

Today a two-day meeting of the working group of deputy foreign
ministers of the Caspian states starts in Ashgabat. The diplomats will
discuss a draft convention on the legal status of the Caspian Sea.

An official Turkmen source has reported that in addition from December
19-21 a meeting of representatives of the Caspian region to discuss
the draft agreement on the protection and sustainable use of
biological resources of the Caspian Sea will take place in the Turkmen
capital.


The both meetings are organized by the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign
Affairs and the presidential state-owned Enterprise on the Caspian
Sea.
