Turkish Minister for Finances Zafer Caglayan has said today that Turkey had not exported gold to Iran for oil and gas. He noted that 60% of Turkish gold exports had targeted Iran, Sabah reports.
Vice Premier Ali Babajan said in late November that Turkey had been paying for Iranian gas with gold because foreign could not be used for the operation. He added that Turkey was not obliged to follow US sanctions.
