Oil sanctions boost agriculture in Iran

 

By March 2013 Iran will produce 120 million tons of agricultural

products, the country's Agriculture Minister Sadeq Haliliyan

said today. This figure

is higher than forecast in the five-year plan. Food exports

increased 15%. Thus, Iran has set a new record for the agricultural

production. According to Haliliyana, the production of sunflower

oil alone increased 30%.

Exports of fruit will reach $2 billion.
