Rovnag Abdullayev, President of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR), said that gas from the Shah Deniz Field will be the main source of fuel for the Southern Gas Corridor project for Europe.
Budget for the second phase of Shah Deniz development in 2013 has been approved. $6 billion will be invested. The second phase will need $28-30 billion. The whole project will cost $40-50 billion. $7-10 billion of the sum will be spent on the Trans-Anatolia Gas Pipeline.
