Avalanche risk on the Mtskhet-Stepantsminda-Lars road leading to the Verkhny Lars Checkpoint on the Georgian-Russian border caused traffic restrictions.
A long queue of vehicles, mainly the ones moving from Armenia to Russia through Georgia, was formed. Trailers, semi-trailers and vehicles with over 30 passenger seats were restricted on the Aragvispiri-Gudauri and Kobi-Stepantsminda road sections.
Only trucks are allowed to pass the Gombori Gorge.
