Georgia considers monitoring cargo on Russian border

The Georgian Foreign Minister, Maya Panjikidze has said that her department is tudying the issue of monitoring cargo transportation on the Georgian-Russian border.

The monitoring of cargo at customs checkpoints along the Georgian-Russian border is provided by an agreement signed by the two countries. This agreement allowed Russia to join the WTO.

According to the agreement, the monitoring should be carried out in Larsi, Roky (South Ossetian section of the border) and Psou (the Abkhaz section of the border).
